Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Cross Country team took some time out of their preparation for the WCC Championships this morning to participate in a morning mile run with local elementary school students.
The students, from John R. Williams elementary school in Stockton, participate in a morning run every school day at the Stockton campus. Students try to run as many miles as possible in the alloted time frame. The run today was a chance for the team to encourage the students towards running their best and reaching goals.
"It's always nice to promote physical activity in the Stockton community," coach Josh Jones said of the morning run. "The girls can serve as great role models for the students and hopefully the kids develop a life-long passion for running."
