STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific cross country team returns this week as they head to the 37th Annual UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday. The 6K race begins at 7:30 AM and will take place at the UCR Agriculture Operations Course, which is mostly flat with a few rolling hills and runs through 100 year-old citrus trees.
Saturday's contest will be the first race for Pacific since Labor Day weekend when the Tigers took First Place at the 5K Big Wave Invitational. Jasmine Gonzales took first overall in the 5k race with a time of 19:32.00, which is a personal best for the sophomore. Shortly following in second place with a time of 19:34.00 was Emma Winkler, and in third place overall was freshman Saira Purhar with a mark of 19:36.00. In sixth place came Emily Wylie, who traversed the Kahuku Golf Course in 20:02.00. Katelyn Breitschwerdt (20:37.00) and Madison Cote (20:40.00) crossed the finish line next with Haley Silva following shortly after in 21:14.00. Rounding out the Pacific squad was Skylar Duignan (23.02.00) and Daniella Del Toro (24:21.00).
Following the UC Riverside Invitational, the Tigers head to the Sacramento Capital Cross Challenge on Sept. 30. The 6K race begins at 10:30 AM at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.
