Coaches Collaborate for PAF Luncheon

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific Athletic Foundation (PAF) invites you to join us in attending the first PAF Coaches Luncheon of 2019.

The PAF will be back at Dave Wong's Restaurant and will feature 5 of our Pacific coaches as well as one of their student-athletes. The program will be MC'd by Zack Bayrouty and include a short speaking engagement from each of our coaches highlighting their program along with a Q&A session involving our coaches and our student-athletes.

The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, January 15th at Dave Wong's from 11:45 - 1:00. The cost to attend is $25 per person and all proceeds will benefit the PAF Impact Fund.

Featured Coaches

Damon Stoudamire - Men's Basketball

Damon Stoudamire is in his 3rd season as Pacific's head coach and is currently 10-7. The Tigers 10 non-conference wins is the program's most since the 2007-08 season. 

The Tigers opened up WCC play last week at home against BYU and suffered a tough loss, 90-87. Senior Roberto Gallinat led the team with 22 points and junior Zach Cameron had 8 rebounds. Pacific then traveled down to San Diego to face the Toreros on Saturday night, where they came up short by a score of 73-64. 

Next up, the Tigers are on the road this weekend as they travel to No. 5 Gonzaga on Thursday and Portland on Saturday. They return home on January 17th to face USF.

 

Bradley Davis - Women's Basketball 

Bradley Davis is in his 4th season at the helm of Pacific Women's Basketball program and has led the Tigers to their best start since the 2012-2013 season. They are currently 9-4 (2-1 WCC). 

Last week Pacific was on the road as they traveled to Portland and Gonzaga where the split the weekend. On Thursday the Tigers defeated Portland 76-66 led by senior, Ameela Li with 21 points, who scored her 800th career point in the second quarter. On Saturday, the Tigers were defeated by No. 17 Gonzaga 88-65. Li had her fourth 20+ point game of the season and Brooklyn McDavid contributed 15 points, shooting 50% from the field. 

Davis and his team will return to the Spanos Center this week as they host BYU on Thursday night and San Diego on Saturday afternoon.

 

John Cook - Golf 

John Cook is in his 4th season as Pacific Golf's head coach. In the fall the Tigers competed in 4 tournaments, including 2 in Colorado, one in Fresno and the last in Stockton. 

The team had a 7th place finish in their first event of the year in Boulder, Colorado. Their second tournament was the Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno where junior Austin Fox led the Tigers with an 8th place finish. 

The official ground breaking ceremony for The Walter Chang Golf and Learning Center was on October 29th. This first-class facility will help Pacific to acquire top recruits and become a perennial West Coast Conference contender.

 

Peter Richardson - Swimming & Diving

Peter Richardson is in his 7th season as the men's and women's swimming and diving head coach.

Throughout the fall season the Tigers competed in four meets, including the 27th annual PAC Invite where they hosted seven teams. The men's team cruised to a first place finish with a total of 1098 points and the women finished second with 788 points. 

The Tigers will open up 2019 at Stanford on Friday, January 11th.

               

Greg Gibbons - Volleyball

Greg Gibbons just wrapped up his 9th season as head coach of Pacific volleyball and has just signed a contract extension through the 2021 season. 

The Tigers finished the 2018 season a record of 13-16 overall and 8-10 in WCC play. With 6 freshman and 2 sophomores, this team was one of the youngest in the country. Sophomore Kaitlyn Lines earned her first ever WCC First-Team honor, while Riley Ramey was named to the All-WCC Freshman team. 

Gibbons now looks to enter his fourth season as head coach of beach volleyball, which is set to start in February.
