Kristen Spracher-Birtwhistle-Class of 81’-
For over 25 years, Kristen has served The Permanente Medical Group in various executive leadership positions in the management of medical group operations and strategic projects for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California.
Her major focus has been on the oversight of complex, region-wide initiatives from capital expansions and construction of medical centers, working with labor unions to launching new physician focused initiatives. Many of those initiatives included collaborations with physician leaders, executive teams and union staff. Additionally she introduced many community focused programs include Neighbors in Health, Celebration of Women’s Wellness and the creation of a mobile health clinic that provided care to uninsured patients.
Through her efforts she has been recognized with multiple awards including the ATHENA award, Erickson Diversity Award, Business Manager of the Year from the Stockton Chamber of Commerce and the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award. She continues to serve the Stockton community and is a founder of the Advancing Women’s Leadership Conference, serves on multiple boards and is a staunch advocate for mentorship of women leaders within our community.
One of her most cherished accomplishment however is graduating from University of the Pacific having played on the Women’s Tennis Team during her time at Pacific and obtaining a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine. Claiming that while at Pacific she learned the important foundational elements of leading and giving back for which she will be eternally grateful.
