2018-2019 (Sophomore): 
Olvera had a strong showing her sophomore year finishing with the fastest time on the team in the 200 Fly (2:05.45) and scoring points in the event at the MPSF Championships.  She also had the 5thfastest time on the team in the 100 Fly (58.10).

2017-2018 (Freshman):
Joined the Orange and Black midseason and competed in her first event as a Tiger at the Women's Dual meet with UC Davis (Feb. 3). Olvera also participated in Pacific's meet against UC Santa Barbara and had a 200 fly time of 2:04 ranking 13th overall in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship.

High School:
A four-time league champion and one time CIF Champion (2014), Olvera was part of a successful Glendora program being a state qualifier her sophomore, junior, and senior year. Also placed fourth in the CIF State 200 Med relay, earning an All-American award. Was All-League in 2015 and 2017. Swam a 2:02.06  200 fly and 2:06.31 200 IM. A member of the National Honors Society (NHS).

Olvera is the daughter of Camerino and Flor Olvera. She has three siblings: Jonathan, Steven, and Noah. Her brother, Jonathan, is a freshman swimmer at Mt. Sac College. In her spare time Gisel enjoys onilne shopping, baking, and traveling.
