2017-2018 (Redshirt Junior):
Shahaf added to his list of accomplishments his junior year setting the fastest time in the 50 breast (26.33) and 100 breast (52.89) and having the second fastest time on the team in the 200 breast (2:00.39) and 100 IM (49.94). Also played a big role in setting program marks for last season in the Tigers' relay races earning top times in the 200 free (1:17.29), 400 free (2:54.04), 800 free (6:26.00), 200 medley (1:26.21) and 3:12.15). Made an NCAA appearance for his third consecutive year swimming times of 52.62 in the 100 breast in the preliminaries and 53.15 in the finals.
2016-2017 (Redshirt Sophomore):
Shahaf set three school records this year, giving him three of Pacific's best times ever. The sophomore swam a 19.61 in the 50 Free to beat Mitchell Ongstad's 19.64 school record and win the MPSF championship in that event. Shahaf also set a school record in the 200 Breast with his 1:58.26 time that won the conference title. Shahaf added a conference title in the 100 Breast with a school and MPSF-record 52.62 and a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.
2015-2016 (Redshirt Freshman):
Shahaf put together one of the most impressive freshman years in Pacific history en route to being named the MPSF Freshman of the Year. He had Pacific's top times in the 50 Free, 100 Breast, and 200 Breast. In the 50 Free, he swam a 19.98, though his MPSF time of 20.03 was second in the conference and put him on the All-MPSF First Team. Shahaf broke school records in both the 100 Breast and 200 Breast, swimming a 52.97 in the 100 and a 1:58.54 in the 200. He narrowly missed making the NCAAs as well, losing out on a spot by just a tenth of a second. His 100 Breast time put him on the All-MPSF First Team, as did his 200 Breast. As a part of the 400 Medley Relay team, Shahaf helped Pacific put up the conference's best time with a 3:12.77. He was on the 200 Medley Relay team that swam a 1:26.80 to earn All-MPSF Second Team honors as well as the 200 Free Relay team that also earned such honors with a 1:18.92. The 400 Free Relay team also earned Second Team honors as Shahaf helped them record a time of 2:55.15.
Shahaf graduated from Mor High School in Reut, Israel. He is the Israel national record holder in the 50 Free with a time of 21.50 set at the 2014 Israeli Championships in Netanya, Israel.
Shahaf was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and is the son of Harel and Shlumif Shahaf. He has two brothers, Rom, and Dvir, and two older sisters, Ramon and Dekel. Dekel is currently a teammate of Yahav a standout on the women's swim team. Shahaf is pursuing a degree in business.
