STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific baseball team heads to Cal Poly for a four-game series starting on Friday, March 2. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.

Nick Meyer leads the offense with a .346 batting average, connecting for nine hits in 26 at-bats. He has notched four RBI, two doubles and a triple in all eight games for the Mustangs. Alex McKenna is right behind with a .321 batting average with nine hits in 28 at-bats.
On the mound, Michael Clark owns a 3.48 ERA in 10.1 innings pitched. Clark has struck out nine batters in two appearances with two starts. Trent Shelton (0-1) will pitch on Saturday. Shelton holds a 3.00 ERA in two appearances with two starts. He has struck out 16 batters in 12 innings pitched. Darren Nelson (1-0) enters the series with a 0.79 ERA. In 11.1 innings pitched, he has struck out seven batters and has given up one earned run.
The Tigers enter the weekend 3-6 on the season.
Kevin Sandri leads the Orange and Black offense with a .303 batting average. Sandri has made 10 hits in 33 at-bats in nine games played. Nate Verlin is right behind with a .281 batting average. Verlin has scored five runs for the Tigers and notched five RBI to rank second on the team.
On the mound, Shelby Lackey holds a 4.50 ERA in eight innings pitched. Lackey has thrown 13 strikeouts in two games played with two starts. Ricky Reynoso owns a 4.22 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched.
Following the weekend, the Tigers will return home to host Nevada on Tuesday, March 6 with first pitch at 6:00 p.m.
