Tigers Close Out Season at BYU

STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific baseball team closes out its season against West Coast Conference opponent Brigham Young University in a three-game series starting Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, May 19. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The Tigers enter the weekend 20-28 overall and 9-15 in conference play.

James Free II leads the offense with 27 RBI. Free owns a .299 batting average and has tallied seven home runs, one triple, and six doubles in 52 hits with 32 runs scored. Alex LeForestier leads the team in batting in average with a .315. IN 29 games played, LeForestier has made 24 starts and registered 29 hits with 12 RBI, one triple, four doubles, and 14 runs scored.

On the mound, Thursday starter Ricky Reynoso owns a 5.19 ERA. In 13 appearances with 13 starts, Reynoso has struck out 47 batters through 67.2 innings pitched. Friday starter Cooper Casad has pitched 65.1 innings and holds a 4.13 ERA and has thrown 44 strikeouts. To round out the starting pitching staff, Shelby Lackey holds a 3.44 ERA. In 17 appearances, he has made 12 starts and has pitched 81 innings throwing 81 strikeouts.

The Cougars enter the contest 21-26 overall and 10-14 in conference action.

Brock Hale leads the offense with a .344 batting average and 31 RBI. Hale has played in all 47 games for BYU and has tallied eight home runs, one triple, and 15 doubles in 64 hits with 39 runs scored. Jarrett Perns ranks second with a .313 batting average. Perns has tallied 17 RBI, one home run, two triples, and seven doubles in 31 hits with 19 runs scored.

Thursday starter Jordan Wood leads the starting pitching staff with a 2.93 ERA. In 86 innings pitched, Wood has struck out 60 batters. Friday starter Hayden Rogers holds a 5.74 ERA and a 5-4 record. Rogers had made 12 appearances with 12 starts. In 53.1 innings pitched, Rogers has struck out 28 batters. Alex Perron rounds out the starting pitchers with a 3.78 ERA. Perron has pitched 33.1 innings and struck out 18 batters.
