Six Tigers are currently playing Minor League Baseball and trying to chase their dreams of playing in the Majors. The following is a roundup of where all of the former Tigers are plying their trade this summer.


Vince Arobio | RHP | At Pacific: 2014-17

Great Falls Voyagers | Pioneer League (Rookie) | Chicago White Sox Organization


Arobio's season is just getting started with Great Falls. After going 2-3 in with a 4.03 ERA with the Arizona League White Sox, he's already earned a win with Great Falls in just 5.1 innings of work. He currently has a 6.75 ERA and is holding opposing batters to a .238 average. Great Falls' regular season opened on June 15 and will go through until September 6.


Gio Brusa | 1B | At Pacific: 2013-16

San Jose Giants | California League (High A) |San Francisco Giants Organization


Brusa is in his second season with San Jose and is in the midst of his best year as a pro. He's hitting .254 with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs and is top-10 in the League in home runs and RBI despite a stint on the disabled list. He earned CAL Player of the Week honors on June 10 and hit for the cycle on April 12. On June 11, he homered three times in a game against Modesto.


Cooper Casad | RHP | At Pacific: 2017-18

Unassigned | San Francisco Giants Organization


Copper Casad is the most recent Tiger to sign a minor-league deal. He signed on June 22 and has not yet been assigned to his first professional club.


Shelby Lackey | RHP | At Pacific: 2016-18

Boise Hawks | Northwest League (A Short Season) | Colorado Rockies Organization


Lackey is the most recent Tiger to be drafted after going in the 18th round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft. He currently has a 1-1 record and 2.57 ERA in seven innings of work. Boise opened the regular season on June 15 and will play through until September 3.


Danny Mayer | RF | At Pacific: 2014-17

Williamsport Crosscutters | New York-Penn League (A Short Season) | Philadelphia Phillies Organization


Mayer is in his first full season as a pro and has bounced around three Single-A clubs this season in the Phillies organization playing a total of 29 games. While he is currently hitting .294 in 24 at-bats with Williamsport, he spent the bulk of the season with the Lakewood BlueClaws. Between Clearwater, Lakewood and Williamsport, Mayer is hitting .228 with three homers and seven RBIs.


Brett Sullivan | C | At Pacific: 2013-15

Montgomery Biscuits | Southern League (AA) | Tampa Bay Rays Organization


Sullivan is currently playing at the highest level of professional baseball of all former Tigers. Sullivan was a shortstop at Pacific but has since moved to catcher. He's earned spots on Mid-Season All-Star Teams each year since 2016 and was a Post-Season All-Star in 2017 for Charlotte. Sullivan has spent all of 2018 with Montgomery and is hitting .276 with four homers and 37 RBIs.
