Last time out...

The Tigers wrapped up their first West Coast Conference series win of the season with wins on Saturday and Sunday over Pepperdine, which entered the week with the 23rd best RPI rating in the nation. The Tigers won 3-2 on Saturday and got the offense going with 13 runs and three round-trippers on Sunday in a 13-3 win. It was the most home runs in a game this season for the Tigers.

On a tear...

Junior catcher James Free leads the Tigers in batting average at .351, RBIs with 22, doubles with 10 and hits with 39. His 39 hits are good for 54th in the nation. He is ranked 48th in the nation in doubles.

Record chasing...

Free's two-run home run against Air Force moved him into fifth all-time on Pacific's home runs list with 27. He is also ninth all-time at Pacific in RBIs with 104.

Pacific Pitching...

Six Tigers that have pitched in at least 5.0 innings this year boast an ERA under 3.00. Junior Nick Swanson hasn't allowed an earned run in 16.2 innings of work from the pen. He's got five saves. Henrik Reinertsen's 2.65 ERA through 17.0 innings of work also comes from the bullpen. Hayden Pearce has started five games and has a 1.80 ERA. Ryan Shreve's dominance out the mound has led to a 2.40 ERA in a team-leading 41.0 innings of work; He's walked only seven batters. Freshman Michael Defelippi's work from the pen has been limited, but he boasts a 2.57 ERA in 7.1 innings. Junior righty David Rajeski carries a 2.61 ERA in 10.1 innings of work.

Shutout the lights...

Nick Swanson has embraced the role of closer. He notched his fifth save on Saturday against Pepperdine, good for 8th in a single-season. Eight will move him into second in single-season history. If he gets to 12, he'll hold the record.

Top-100 program

Pacific's two wins over Pepperdine, which was 23rd in the nation last week in RPI, bumped the Tigers up from 118th to 100th in NCAA RPI. RPI, which stands for Rating Percentage Index, is the true barometer for national rankings in the NCAA. It takes into account a team's wins, losses, strength of schedule and opponent's strength of schedule.

Finding a way...

Sophomore Alex LeForestier has reached safely in 10-straight games dating back to Sunday, March 17 against Saint Mary's. Since, he's boosted his on-base percentage to a team-leading .440.

Garko Era: Year Two...

Pacific head coach and former major-leaguer, Ryan Garko, enters his second season at the helm of the program this year. He and his staff helped guide the Tigers to a four-win improvement overall and a five-win improvement in West Coast Conference play. 2019 ushers in a new season as well as Garko's first recruiting class, which looks to make a mark this season.

Scouting the Aggies...

Pacific took on UC Davis in a mid-week game earlier this year on March 13 and won by coming back from a seven-run deficit to win 11-9.

Since that game, the Aggies have played just four games and won three of them. They defeated Santa Clara, the last place team in the WCC, 9-0 and took the opening Big West series over UC Riverside, 2 games to 1.
