Small played in 19 games and started in 13 for the Tigers. His averages during his debut season included 8.3 points, 2.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Small led the team in WCC play with a 2.5 assist/turnover ratio. He scored a career high 18 points at home against UNLV on Dec. 16 and dished out a career-best six assists twice, at Air Force (Nov. 21) and versus Texas State (Nov. 25).
Sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Previous School (Oregon)
Small played in 36 games for the Ducks in his freshman year. He had a season-high nine points in 23 minutes against Savannah State early in the season, helping Oregon to the 77-59 win. He also had season highs in rebounds (3) and assists (4) in that game. Small matched that rebound total in the NCAA tournament, grabbing three caroms in Oregon's 82-68 win over Duke.
Small averaged over 20 points per game in his last three seasons at Mayfair High School, topping out at 22 a game his senior year. That year, Small averaged 22/9.3/4.8 with 3.1 steals per game. He made 53 threes that year in 28 games, his second year in a row of over 50 threes.
A native of Lakewood, Calif., Small is a Communication Studies major.
