PALO ALTO, Calif. - James Feutz led the way for the Tigers on day one of The Goodwin at Stanford, shooting a 71 on the afternoon. Pacific shot a 294 as a group, putting them tied for 11th place in the field of 24 teams.
Feutz made three birdies on the day, including back-to-back on the sixth and seventh holes. The senior reached par on eleven of the 18 and currently sits tied for 18th in the competition.
Daniel Peña ended round one with a 73 and will head into day two sitting at +3. Pena opened up with a bogey on ten but was able to bounce back at 16 with a birdie. The freshman made par in seven of his last nine holes on the tough Stanford Golf Course.
Geoff Fry knocked in three birdies including two on the back nine to secure a 74. Fry eased through the par four second, ninth and eleventh in just three strokes. Casey Scott finished with a 76 on the day while Tyler Burnes rounded out the Tiger squad with an 82.
The Tigers will begin round two tomorow at 1:10 PM-1:54 PM at the first hole.
