PROVO, Utah - The Tiger golf team ended day one of the West Coast Conference Championships with a +9 (297) overall at the Par 72 Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah on Thursday. Pacific now sits in 9th place as they head into round two.
Tyler Burnes led the Tigers and ended the day with a +1 at 73, which put him tied for 21st place in the field. Burnes opened up with a +1 on the back nine before going shooting an even par with back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth to cap off his first round of play.
Geoff Fry posted three birdies,two of his which came in his final nine holes, on the day to cap off his first round of the WCC Championships with a +2 . After an unfortunate triple bogey on the tenth to start the tournament, Austin Fox bounced back to log four birdies on the 12th, 15th, 17th and 18th to post an even 36. Fox would also end the day at +2 , giving him his 12th round this season that was at 75 or under.
Round two of the Championships tees off tomorrow, with start times TBA.
