Men's Golf Adjusts Schedule Following Paintbrush Cancellation

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific Golf team revised its' fall schedule following Saturday's cancellation of the Paintbrush Invitational at the University of Denver. The Tigers will now compete next in Price's "Give 'Em 5" Invitational in El Paso, October 20-22.

Preparations for the Paintbrush Invitational became a scramble Saturday when the weather forecast turned bleak. With snow flurries on the horizon, the University of Denver canceled the event, leaving 12 teams looking for another tournament.

"It's unfortunate we couldn't compete this week," head coach John Cook said. "But Coach Erik Billinger and his staff at Denver did a great job of making an early decision and communicating with the field so we could change our travel plans."
UTEP expanded the field for Price's "Give 'Em 5" Invitational to accommodate a number of teams, including the Tigers. The Tigers made arrangements from the airport where they were about to depart for Denver when the cancellation occurred.

"Obviously, our thanks go out to Miners' coach Scott Lieberwirth for the opportunity to compete at their event," Cook said.

Price's "Give 'Em 5" Invitational will start Friday, October 20, at Butterfield Trail Golf Course.
