Tigers 16th on Day One of Amer Ari Invitational

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – The Pacific men's golf team tied for 16th with Stanford on day one of the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings' Course in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

The Tigers wrapped up the first round shooting a two-over par (290) for the day. Austin Fox leads the Tigers with two-under par 70 through the first 18 holes. Fox was even through his first five holes. He bogeyed on three of his first four holes on the back nine, before wrapping up the first round with birdies on holes 18, 1, 2, and 4.

Tyler Burnes also shot under par on the day, finishing with a 71. The redshirt-junior was even for a majority of the round before shooting consecutive birdies on holes 4 and 5 to close out Thursday play.

Casey Scott was third for the Tigers with a 74, followed by Jee Horsangchai with a 75 and Daniel Peña with a 76. 

Defending National Champion Oklahoma State leads the field of 18, currently shooting -21, 267. Leading for the individual title is the Cowboys' Zach Bauchou with a nine-under 63 in the first round.

All teams will tee off Friday's second round at 7:30 a.m. Pacific will be paired with tournament-host Hawaii, No. 31 Stanford, and five individuals. Live results will be available at golfstat.com.
