Pacific Catapults in to 11th at Amer Ari Invitational

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – The Pacific men's golf team jumped up five spots on the team leaderboard after shooting a 10-under par 278 in the second round of the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Kings' Course in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

The Tigers currently sit in 11th place with an eight-under 568. 

Three Pacific golfers — Austin Fox, Tyler Burnes, Casey Scott —  led the charge on Friday afternoon, each shooting a five-under 67 in the second round. Fox continues to lead the Tigers after shooting under-par in consecutive rounds. The junior from Folsom heads into the event's final round in a tie for ninth place with a total score of 137.

Fox birdied on three of his first five holes. Then following a bogey on hole no. 1, he shot even or better on remainder of the front nine. He was the only Tiger to record an eagle on the day.

Burnes also moved up, now in 12th with a 138 and he is followed by Scott (t-31, 141), Jee Horsangchai (t-96, 152), and Daniel Peña (102, 154).

National-leading Oklahoma State continues to stand atop the leaderboard with a -36, 540. 

All teams will tee off Saturday's final round at 7:30 a.m. Pacific will match up with Oregon State San Jose State, and Colorado. Live results will be available at golfstat.com.
