Windy Weather Pushes Tigers Into 11th at El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team finished its first round of 18 holes in a tie for 11th place on day one of the El Macero Classic. 

The UC Davis-hosted event is being hosted on the Par 72, 7,108 yard course at El Macero Country Club. 

Pacific sits in a tie with SMU with a +17, 305. On a very windy Friday, the Tigers shot a solid five over-par through its first nine holes, but dropped on the leaderboard after a 12-over performance on their final nine holes of the day.

Jee Horsangchai, who currently sits in a tie for 18th, led the Tigers' five-some after shooting a two over-par 74. The senior from Bankok, Thailand finished the day with 14 pars and one birdie. 

Austin Fox trails Horsangchai by just one stroke (75, +3), while Casey Scott had the third-lowest score for Pacific with a 76 (+4). Rounding out the Tigers' four scorers was Daniel Peña with an 80.

For Saturday's second round the Tigers will play alongside SMU and Loyola Marymount. Pacific will tee off at 12:30 p.m.
