Verstraaten makes Academic All-District Team

Pacific men's soccer's Wouter Verstraaten was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 Team today for his accomplishments on the field and in the classroom. The senior's selection makes him eligible to be named as a Google Cloud Academic All-American in early December. The team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, or CoSIDA for short.

Verstraaten, who carries a 3.80 GPA in business administration with a concentration in finance, was named to the team today for his senior campaign which has seen him start in all 15 of the Tigers games and score a goal against Western Michigan on Sept. 30. Verstraaten has split captain duties with his fellow senior Camden Riley this season.

Prior to the start of the season, Wouter was named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference team earlier this year and was an All-WCC first-team selection in 2017 and a second-team selection in 2016. Prior to the start of the 2018 season, Verstraaten was named to's Preseason Best XI. Verstraaten is the first Tiger to be named to a Google Cloud Academic All-District team.

Verstraaten is the only player from the West Coast Conference to make an Academic All-District team this season.

Verstraaten and the Tigers close out the regular season this Saturday at Gonzaga in a 2 p.m. match.
