STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific men's tennis team head to the ITA Northwest Regionals in Seattle, Washington, beginning on Thursday, October 11.

Pacific competed at the San Diego State University Invitational this past weekend, where El Sallaly claimed the consolation title in singles by default on a walkover, while Chinamo competed for third place, falling in two sets 6-0, 6-4.
Lieu went 1-1 at the SDSU Invite, picking up one win after defeating his opponent in two straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 but fell in round two to a fellow West Coast Conference opponent in two sets 6-2, 7-6.
Garner dropped in both of his matches, falling in the first round in three sets 1-6, 6-1, and 5-7, to his opponent from the University of San Diego. In round two, he fell in a two-set tiebreak, taking set one 6-3 but dropped set two 6-4, and 10-1 in the tiebreaker.
In doubles, Garner and Lieu partnered up and defeated their opponents from the University of California Irvine 6-2. Chinamo and El Sallaly fell to a duo from Stanford 6-3.
Hjorth and Watson last competed at the Battle in the Bay Classic. Hjorth teamed up with El Sallaly in doubles and went 1-1 as a duo. In round one, Hjorth and El Sallaly defeated the University of San Francisco's Paul Giraurd and Phuc Huynh by a score of 8-7 (2) but fell in round two to Petros Chrysochos and partner Botzer of Wake Forest 8-6. In singles, Hjorth defeated Ben Draper of Cal in two straight 7-5, 6-4, but fell in round two to Harrison Scott by scores of 6-4 and 6-2.
Watson notched his first singles win, after defeating Blaz Seric of Hawaii in two straight sets, 7-6, 7-6 but fell in a tough match to Chrysochos, the defending NCAA Champion, by a score of 6-2 in both sets. Watson won a second match in the consolation bracket in two straight sets by a score of 7-5 and 6-1. He played a bonus match the final day and defeated Sander Gjoels-Anderson of SDSU by scores of 7-5 and 6-3 and teamed up in doubles with El Sallaly to defeat a duo from USC 8-5.
The ITA Northwest Regionals are set to take place in Seattle, Washington, Thursday, October 11 through Monday, October 15. The ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country.
Following the ITA Northwest Regionals, the Tigers compete in their final tournament of the fall season at the Saint Mary's Invitational beginning on Friday, October 26.
