Pacific men's tennis (2-3) will battle it out against UNLV on Saturday. Pacific's match against Cal, which was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, will be rescheduled for a later date.
Pacific got away for a doubleheader on the Hawai'ian Islands last weekend. On Saturday, they fell to the Rainbow Warriors, 6-1, picking up its sole win at No. 4 singles where junior Akram El Sallaly stayed on top against Asad Siyyid, with a 7-6, 7-5 win. On Sunday, the Tigers turned the weekend around by earning a 4-2 victory over Hawai'i, 4-3. At no. 4 singles. Akram El Sallaly rolled to his fourth-straight singles win with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) victory. Junior Ross Watson took the win at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-6, (7-5) and junior Johnathan Lieu finished strong with a win at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. Freshman Philip Hjorth clinched a big win for the Tigers at No. 1 singles which resulted with a 7-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3) triumph.

Scouting the Rebels
UNLV is off to a good start at 5-1 in the 2018-19 season. The rebels defeated West Coast Conference opponent Portland, 4-3. In their last match, UNLV fell against a WCC team, Pepperdine, 5-2. Junior Eric Samuelsson had a great 2017-18 season finishing overall in singles with a 16-9 record and was 11-10 in doubles. This season's team is a young one with only three upperclassmen and six underclassmen.
