2015 (RS Junior)
Scored 16 goals in 26 games while posting four multi-goal games. Added 18 assists for 34 points, including a career-high four assists against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Sept. 18). Added two three-assist games, against Johns Hopkins (Sept. 3) and No. 9 Pepperdine (Oct. 2). His two-goal games came against No. 14 Harvard (Sept. 3), No. 16 Cal Baptist (Sept. 16), Redlands (Sept. 18) and No. 18 UC Irvine (Oct. 14). Recorded 13 steals on the year, with three two-steal games.

2015 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Scored 10 goals in 23 games for Pacific, with six assists and four steals. Posted his first career hat trick with three goals against Iona (Sept. 12). Scored twice against #10 UC San Diego (Sept. 5). Added two assists against #19 Air Force (Sept. 6). Scored a goal with two assists against Brown (Sept. 13).

2014 (Redshirt Freshman):
Clappis appeared in eight games for the Tigers, and tallied three goals on the season. He posted his first career goal at the Triton Invitation in San Diego, hitting the back of the cage against Air Force (Sept. 7). Picked up his first multi-goal game with a pair of finishes against Cal Lutheran on Sept. 27.

2013 (Freshman):
Redshirted the 2013 season.

High School/Club:
A local product from St. Mary's High School, Clappis earned three varsity letters in water polo for the Rams. He led his teams to three straight Tri-County Athletic League titles and was the TCAL Player of the Year as a junior and senior. The Stockton Record Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012, Clappis was also an all-league pick in each of his three varsity seasons.

The son of Candy Crane, Derek has an older sister Shea. He is a business major.
