Pacific Drops 2-1 Decision At Hawai'i In Final Road Match

Honolulu, Hawai'i – The Pacific women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Hawai'I on Sunday, October 21. The Tigers fell to 3-12-1 on the year and 0-6-1 in league play, while the Rainbow Wahine improved to 8-8-2 and 3-4-0 in Big West action. It was the Tigers' ninth one-goal match on the season, falling to 3-6.


The Tigers had nine shots in the first 45 minutes, with sophomore Sasha Moscatello just missing on a shot across cage at the midpoint of the half. Junior Maricela Padilla had a pair of shots in the 32nd minute that were on goal but just off the mark. Pacific was called for 12 fouls in the opening period, while the Rainbow Wahine had five fouls.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Hawai'I took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Tiana Fujimoto at 54:23. The Tigers evened it up on a beautiful entry off of a free kick by senior Laura Hernandez to junior Brittni Beeman, who put it in at the 61:36 mark. Chelsea Miyake scored for game-winner for Hawai'I at 69:56 after the Rainbow Wahine was given a penalty kick.


Pacific held an 11-8 advantage in shots and had a 2-0 edge in corner kicks.  The Tigers were called for 23 fouls, while Hawai'I was whistled for 11 fouls.


The Tigers are next in action with a home game against UC Riverside on Friday, October 26 at 7:00pm.
