Tara Tembey enters her third season as assistant coach for the Tigers, working with the hitters.
A native of California, Tembey spent the last three years at Colgate University as the Raiders top assistant. In charge of the Raiders' infielders and catchers during her time at Colgate, Tembey was also tasked with improving the Raiders' offense as she trained the hitting, slapping, and base-running for the team. Prior to Colgate, Tembey was an assistant coach at San Francisco State while also spending one season as the head coach at Folsom High School in 2010.
As a player, Tembey was a four-year starter and standout at UT Chattanooga. During her career she would set numerous school records including runs in a single season and hits in a game. In all, Tembey led her team to 160 wins and two Southern Conference championships during her career. Tembey also earned an invite with the USA Baseball Women’s National Team as a middle infielder and outfielder.
She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and human performance-movement science from UT Chattanooga.
