Tigers Come Up Short Against Cal Poly, 4-3

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Pacific women's tennis fell short in its match against Cal Poly on Saturday afternoon, 4-3.

Maayan Sela defeated MacKenzie Worsnop in her singles match by scores of 6-4 and 6-0 to give the Tigers one win on the day.

A total of three singles matches were completed for Pacific with Anna Ramos Vinolas defeating Caroline Williams in a tie breaker. Vinolas took set one while Williams took set two forcing a 10-point tie breaker. Vinolas won in a win by two situation, 13-11, to claim the second victory. Yuki Asami won the third singles match defeating Celine Gruaz by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

Sela and Dohee Lee won the only doubles competition for the Tigers defeating Abigail Bacharach and Worsnop by a 6-1 decision.

The Tigers are 2-3 on the season, while Cal Poly improves to 3-5.

The Orange and Black will have two weeks off before returning to the court on Tuesday, March 13 at Hawai'i. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
