STOCKTON, Calif. – After two weeks off, The University of the Pacific women's tennis team will be back in action at the ITA Northwest Regionals held at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
The ITA Regionals begin on Friday, October 19 and will last through Tuesday, October 23. The first round begins Friday with two rounds of singles and the opening slate of doubles.
In addition to Pacific, the ITA Northwest Regionals are comprised of the following: California, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Stanford, Portland, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Seattle, and UC Davis.
Freshman Hannah Ketcherside makes her second collegiate appearance at the ITA Regionals. Ketcherside advanced to the consolation final at the Saint Mary's Invite and finished 2-2 in singles. She partnered with Jessica Kaye in doubles and finished 1-2.
Dohee Lee competes in her third tournament this season. Lee competed in the Battle in the Bay Classic, where she fell in both singles and doubles. She appeared in the Saint Mary's Invite and went 1-2 in singles. Lee partnered with freshman Jacquie Tan in doubles and finished 1-1, after falling in the quarterfinals.
Anneroos Nederstigt enters her third tournament this season. Nederstigt competed in the Battle in the Bay Classic in doubles only and finished runner-up with her partner from USC. Followed by the Battle in the Bay, she played at the Saint Mary's Invite, finishing 1-2 in singles. She fell in the consolation quarterfinals to Ava Markham of U of W in two straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. In doubles, Nederstigt partnered with Georgia Townsend and the duo went 1-1, falling in the quarterfinals.
Ioana Popescu saw her first set of action this fall, competing at the Saint Mary's Invite. Popescu finished 2-1 in singles, after falling in the quarterfinals in her bracket. She partnered with Anna Ramos Vinolas in doubles and went 1-2, falling in the consolation semifinals.
Sabrina Rodriguez makes her first collegiate appearance this season. Rodriguez competed in 12 matches in the spring. Through six doubles matches, she finished 0-5 with one match going unfinished. In singles, Rodriguez went 4-5 with two matches going unfinished.
Karina Vyrlan enters her second tournament of the season at the ITA Regionals. Last time out, Vyrlan competed in singles only at the Saint Mary's Invite. She finished 1-1, falling in the quarterfinals in her bracket.
Rounding out the ITA Regional competitors, Anna Ramos Vinolas competes in her second tournament. Vinolas last competed at the Saint Mary's Invite, finishing 0-2 in singles. She partnered with Popescu in doubles, as the duo fell 1-2, falling in the consolation round.
