Pacific women's tennis (4-9, 1-3 WCC) hosted a nationally-ranked team for the second straight day, but came up short in a 4-1 loss to No. 43 Loyola Marymount.
The Tigers won the doubles point to start the day with wins on courts two and three, but lost matches on courts three, four, six and one to fall to the Lions.
In doubles on court two, junior Anneroos Nederstigt and freshman Jacquie Tan won 6-2 and juniors Karina Vyrlan and Anna Ramos Vinolas continued to roll in doubles with a 6-1 win on court one to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
LMU would go on to win four-straight matches in singles to clinch the win, but the Tigers had opportunities to flip the script and upset the Lions. On court two, Dohee Lee's match went unfinished, but she won the first set, 6-4 and was about to embark on a tiebreaker in the second set when the match was completed. Freshman Maya Lopez was in the midst of a third set on court five. She lost the first set, 6-0, but worked back in the second, to win 6-4. She was down in the third set, 4-1 at the end of the competition. Ramos Vinolas fell at No. 6, 7-6, 6-3.
The Tigers hit the road next week for a single match on Saturday with Saint Mary's at noon.
