SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Pacific women's track and field team completed competition at the Jamie Nieto Invitational in Sacramento on Friday.
The meet was hosted by Sacramento City College at Hughes Stadium over two days, Mar. 21-22, 2019.
Emma Winkler led three Pacific runners in the 1500 meter run, winning the event and recording a new personal best with a time of 4:53.40. Skylar Duignan (5:20.66) and Anna Martinez (5:22.46) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
In another distance event, Kimberly Villegas shined as she recorded a third place finish in the 5,000 meter run. Her mark of 20:26.08 topped her previous personal best by over 25 seconds.
Alexia Amo represented the Tigers in both the discus and the shot put. In the discus she recorded her longest throw of 24.82 (81-5) meters on her third attempt, placing 15th overall. Then in the shot put, Amo she came in 12th with a toss of 9.01 (29-6.25) meters.
Pacific is back in action the weekend of Mar. 28-30, 2019, when Pacific is set compete in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, formerly known as the SF State Distance Carnival, at Chabot College in Hayward, Calif.
