STOCKTON, Calif. - Men's and women's water polo players Andrea Denardi and Viktoria Tamas will be honored in the NCAA Elite 90 Contest this upcoming week the NCAA announced.
The two student-athletes are nominees in the fourth annual Elite 90 contest after receiving their individual NCAA Elite 90 award for their respective sport this past season.
A prestigic honor which recognizes student-athletes who have reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level as well as achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers, both Denardi and Tamas held the highest cumulative GPA (4.0 and above) while participating at the final NCAA Championships site on the campus of USC this last fall and spring.
The Elite 90 award will be reflective of all NCAA Elite 90 award winners across all NCAA sports for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Voting begins Monday, July 23 at 10 a.m. E.T. Fans are allowed to vote once per day until Thursday, July 26 at 8 p.m. E.T. At that time, the individual with the highest number of votes wins. The winner will be celebrated on NCAA social media accounts Friday, July 27.
