High School:
A three-year varsity letterman at Saint Mary's High School, Garcia helped lead the Rams to three winning seasons and an untarnished Tri City Athletic League conference record of 35-4. The Stockton, Calif. native was the team leader in steals during her sophomore, junior, and senior season tallying a career total of 146. Garcia would also lead the Rams in assists her final two years with 32 per season.

The two-meter/attacker aided Saint Mary's to three-straight postseason appearances along with a perfect 10-0 TCAL record and Sac-Joaquin Section Semifinal appearance her senior year. Garcia would also lead St. Mary's with a shooting percentage of .469 percent during her final season. 

Garcia earned Tri City Athletic League honors three times (2016-2018) and CIF San Joaquin Section All-Section honors twice (2017-2018). She was also named to the USA Water Polo Academic All-American team her junior year. 

Personal:
Mia is the daughter of Linda and Antonio Garcia. She has one brother, Micheal, who currently plays for the men's water polo team at Chapman University. Mia hopes to earn a degree in Pharmacy at the University of Pacific. 

Garcia was part of the California State Federation and National Honors Society her senior year of high school.
