Suited up in 23 matches for the Orange and Black. Immediately made her presence known with the Tigers' second line recording a hat trick and one assist in their first match of the year against Fresno Pacific (Jan. 19th) and holding an eight-match streak with a goal from then on. Finished with 15 goals, five assists, and 15 steals earning her a spot on the GCC All-Freshman Team. Was a force on defense recording seven field blocks to lead all position players. Tallied a pair of field blocks against Marist, Cal Baptist, and Stanford.
Utas is a six-time Canadian National team member. Her accolades at the international level include being captain and winning a gold medal with the 19U Junior Pan American Team (2018) and winning bronze with the Senior National Team at the Intercontinental Cup in New Zealand (2018). She would also go on to win silver at the Youth Pan American games in 2015 and gold in 2016.
Brianna has three years of club experience playing one year with Fraser Valley Club, where her team won U16 Nationals and was awarded tournament MVP, and two years with the Pacific Storm. Utas went on to win bronze at the U18 Nationals and silver along with the Most Valuable Defensive Player award at the U19 Nationals the next year.
Brianna is the daughter of Donald and Linda Utas. She has three siblings: Brett, Britney, and Brady. Brianna plans to pursue a degree in Health and Physical Education and Fitness.
